MacyePay exists to give you clarity over your finances - not to exploit your data. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Account information Your name, national ID or business registration, phone number, email, and role (business, customer, or notary).

Financial data Installment agreements, repayment history, penalties, and the identity documents required to notarize an agreement. This powers your dashboard and trust scores.

Usage data How you interact with MacyePay - pages visited, features used, and actions taken. This helps us improve the product.

Device information Browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and troubleshooting.

How we use your data

• Deliver the service: Create agreements, schedule installments, and track repayment

• Improve MacyePay: Understand usage patterns to build better features

• Communicate with you: Product updates, billing information, support responses

• Security: Detect fraud, prevent abuse, protect your account

What we don't do

• Sell your data to third parties

• Share your financial information with advertisers

• Use your data to build profiles for external marketing

• Use your identity documents for anything beyond verification and enforcement

Third-party services

We work with trusted partners to deliver MacyePay:

• Credit reference bureau (CRB Africa, similar): Trust scores and repayment reporting

• Cloud infrastructure (AWS, similar): Data storage and processing

• Analytics tools: Anonymized usage tracking

• Payment providers (mobile money and banks): Installment collection

These partners are bound by strict data protection agreements.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you cancel, we retain data for 90 days in case you return, then delete it. You can request immediate deletion at any time.

Your rights

You can:

• Access your data through in-app exports

• Correct inaccurate information in your settings

• Delete your account and all associated data

• Export your financial data in standard formats

EU users have additional rights under GDPR. California users have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). We use multi-factor authentication, regular security audits, and strict access controls. Bank credentials are never stored on our servers - they're handled entirely by our banking partners.

Changes to this policy

We'll notify you of significant changes via email before they take effect.
